EXCITED to be back at good old Wendell Park this week, tasked with painting not one but TWO murals on the playground walls. What could possibly go wrong….

Feeling very trepidatious but hopefully something shall be learned and it will alllll turn out fine?!

Today was supposed to be wall-washing but also involved me becoming acquainted with a crow-bar as the old, rotting mural was still up and needed some convincing to come down. Blood has already been shed.

I had a look back at my last project after a month avoiding the sight of it…

There are approximately 274727584 things I would change but I learnt a lot about intaglio printing (mostly that Co-Op cereal boxes make very satisfactory Tetra-Pak alternatives- who knew! I am still eating leftover cornflakes for breakfast to this day) and it was perfect for the spooky spooky vibes of Poe!

This is one of the final artworks for my reimagining of The Oval Portrait, and its accompanying text. I’m still not convinced I pricked the best print!
